Rather than flood the website with multiple posts, I think it is just easier to post one item detailing the list of football commitments Kentucky has received this week. It’s an exciting time of the year right now for UK football fans as the recruits commit and show their loyalty to the Cats. Below are a list of players who have committed in the last few days, and I have also included a list of possible commits within the next few days:
Tyrone Pearson(DL) Tyrone was originally committed to Louisville to play football, but decided his talents were a better fit with UK. I would have to agree. Pearson is a three-star defensive lineman and will make a solid addition to the squad. Pearson had offers from the following schools: Alabama, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, LSU and Arkansas. Good Job Joker.
Daniel Ross (DL) Ross was revealed his commitment through Twitter. Ross is also a defensive lineman and was highly recruited by several schools including Louisville.
TJ Jones (OL) – TJ is out of Myrtle Beach and is the most recent of the listed commitments. He should be another great talent behind an already talented OL.
Jadarius West (CB) – There is actually a funny story behind this one. Late last night it was reported that Jadarius attempted to contact Tee Martin and devote his talents to the Cats, but silly Tee didn’t pick up the phone. So it looks as though this is a done deal for this three star prospect.
Possible Commits –
Langston Newton (DE) If Kentucky can land him, I would expect the defense to be much improved in the 2012 class.
Mike Hilton (RB) – Expected to make his decision on Friday (8/5/11) according to Aaron Cordero of BBK. Ole Miss and Mississippi State are also in the picture for Hilton, with Ole Miss being the likely school to land him.
With all these recent commitments, it makes me excited to be a UK fan. Not only will UK bring talents such as Patrick Towles next year, but these commits will help bring Kentucky to where they need to be in the SEC. It’s a slow process, but I think Joker Phillips is getting it done. Only time will tell.
