Remember The Titans: Sports Buzz Style

A huge and well deserved congratulations goes out to former Louisville quarterback and Sports Buzz radio host Dave Ragone for being named the new wide receivers coach for the Tennessee Titans this week. Ragone spent last season as the quarterbacks coach for the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League. There he worked under the new Titans offensive coordinator and former NFL head coach Chris Palmer.

Dave Ragone enjoyed a very successful career at Louisville as a starting quarterback, winning Offensive Conference Player of the Year three times ( Only player to do so ) while going 27-11 as a starter. He finished his collegiate career as Louisville’s second all time leading passer and helped lead the Cards to a magical rain-soaked win over #4 Florida State.

Ragone would be drafted in the third round of the 2003 NFL draft by the Houston Texans and started 2 games before going on to bigger success in NFL Europe. In 2005, Ragone was named NFL Europe’s Offensive MVP, leading the Berlin Thunder  to World Bowl XIII.

Ragone joins the Louisville radio waves with former UK standout Scott Padgett and would be a member of the Louisville Sports Buzz family, hosting the Weekend Sports Buzz before getting the opportunity to work for his former head coach in Houston, Chris Palmer  in Hartford.

Everyone here at the Louisville Sports Buzz family, as well as all Cardinal nation I’m sure, wishes Dave all the best of luck and look forward to seeing him climb that coaching ladder over time on his way to being a future NFL  head coach.
