Cards Start Slow But Finish Strong

The new look Cardinals (literally, they wore new jerseys) started slow against what may be the worst team in D-II football, Indiana State, but after falling behind 7-3, the Cards rolled off 24 unanswered points to get the win 30-10.

Junior and Lexington native Justin Burke started his first game since his Senior year of high school and it showed. Over throwing his first 4 pass attempts (all wide open) and showed rust throughout the entire game. One Cardinal that didn’t show rust was Sophomore Victor Anderson, who finished the game with 2 touchdowns and game-high 93 yards on just 14 carries.
