Western Kentucky University alumn, Kenny Perry, leads the first major of the year after 54 holes. Perry managed to close his rounds with five straight pars for a 70 and is tied at 11 under par with Argentina’s Angel Cabrera. A look at the first page of the lederboard are missing the names of the top 2 ranked players in the world, Mickelson & Woods, who are currently tied for 10th but are 7 strokes back at 4 under par. There are some intresting stories in Georgia this week but none that would mean more than a win for the 48 year old Perry. He would become the oldest winner of a major ever, continue his remarkable play that earned himself a spot on a victoious Ryder Cup team & silience all the criticism that he has received for his 96 PGA Championship & skipping majors last year. Angel Cabrera has his major champonship and is looking quite comfortable on the links at Augusta, he is the only player in the field who has posted all three round in the 60’s, and a win today would add validation to his status as one of the gmes best. Sould be a great day today as the roars have been loud this year and this tournament is won on the last 9 holes on Sunday.
