Augusta National

The first true sign of Spring is here! We got to drive down Magnolia Lane this afternoon compliments of the World Wide Sports Leader, ESPN, & the good folks who happen to own a green jacket. There is nothing better than seeing the world’s best tee it up in the first major of the year knowing that everything that you see on the high def TV does not do it any justice. Augusta National IS the best golf course in America and today the players got a glimpse of the old Augusta.

The old Augusta National became famous & known for the roars that travel through the Georgia pines but those have been muted to just golf claps of late. But not today, birdies & eagles were everywhere and it was a couple of Ryder Cup rookies who took their mojo from that outing to the course today. Chad Campbell has the lead after round 1 with a superb 65, 7 under par, that should have been better due to the back to back bogeys to close his round. Hunter Mahan also played fantastic golf and posted a 67 along with former Master Champion, Larry Mize (I didn’t know he still played golf?!). Not to be outdone, Mr. Eldrick Woods posted his lowest first round total in the last 6 years with a 2 under par score of 70. Alot of players in the hunt & I will make sure you know the buzz……………..
