The Goose

Some great golf played yesterday highlighted by two time US Open Champion rally over the last 18 holes to win his first tournament of the year. Goosen displayed his usual cool self by knocking down a five foot comeback par putt on the 72nd hole to win by one on a very hard golf course in Innisbrook Resort. It is good to see the “other” South African getting the win as it has been some time since his last and he does not get nearly the credit for his world class ability. Both of his US Open were on very challenging golf courses and neither had an * as the great one was in the field.

Speaking of the great one, next up on the PGA Tour is the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and he will be teeing it up. This event draws the big names as each tour member understand what the King brought to the game. He was what transformed golf into the public as his game and TV took off at the same time. Tiger is the defending champion (how many replays of his last hole putt made last year will there be in coverage?) and gets to play in a home tournament as he lives a good driver and 2 iron away.
